Excellent AOG Cooperation of Singapore and Basel Teams
Corrosion was discovered during the maintenance of two Gulfstream IV at our MRO facility in Singapore, and the team looked at their options to repair the damage as quickly as possible.
For this kind of repair, special tooling is required that normally can only be handled by qualified Gulfstream technicians. In this case, customers have to wait for a specially trained technician to be available.
With a wide range of capabilities available 24/7 within Jet Aviation’s global network, it didn’t take long for the Singapore team to find the support they were looking for.
Our sister company Gulfstream had trained maintenance technicians from our Basel MRO team last year and therefore agreed to release the special tooling to their Jet Aviation colleagues to carry out the repair on the G-IV.
“This is a perfect example for how we can leverage our combined skills and capabilities as a global business aviation infrastructure company to the benefit of our customers.”
Robin Gillberg from the Basel base maintenance team joined forces with David Dinter from the AOG team, and both dispatched to Singapore immediately to share their know-how and to support their colleagues on the repair hands-on.
By the time they arrived, the Singapore MRO team, overseeing and coordinating all the work as well as logistics, already arranged that the necessary tools were ready for use on site.
“This was amazing teamwork not only from our engineers and technicians, but also on the planning side: The Singapore Project Management team and the Basel AOG Duty Managers seamlessly worked together to make sure the parts and tooling were ordered and delivered on time, to optimize the travel and work timelines, and to provide the numerous documentations,” says Alan Wong, Senior Manager P145 at Jet Aviation Singapore. “Everyone is looking forward to future cooperations,” adds Alan.
Both the Singapore and Basel teams truly showed excellence in the way they helped and interacted with each other. The teams agree that this joint mission has been a success and a great opportunity for learning, sharing knowledge and building strong relationships.
“This is a perfect example for how we can leverage our combined skills and capabilities as a global business aviation infrastructure company to the benefit of our customers. They experience that they will receive the same excellent level of seamless service and AOG support everywhere in the Jet Aviation network, no matter where they are in the world. A big thank you to everyone involved,” says Chiara de Zanna, Director Aftermarket Services, P145 Shops & AOG at Jet Aviation Basel.
