Fix your position with Jet Aviation and the GLU 2100
In 2020, the FAA passed a new mandate requiring most aircraft to be equipped with ADS-B Out technology.
ADS-B Out is a next Generation positioning technology using GPS, rather than radar-based systems. This offers increased situational awareness, and allows Air Traffic Control and nearby aircraft to access the exact position of an aircraft quickly and easily, with almost real-time accuracy.
Almost all aircraft operators were required to upgrade their systems to one with ADS-B Out capabilities. There were some exemptions in place, such as those for SA-Aware receivers, but these will expire in 2025, and those aircraft will have to upgrade to the newer technologies.
One example of ADS-B Out units is the Collins GLU 2100 Multi-Mode Receiver. This fully digital, MMR includes integrated instrument landing system (ILS), global positioning system (GPS), GPS landing system (GLS) and VHF omni-directional receiver (VOR). The unit supports current navigation and landing requirements, such as those mandated by the FAA in January 2020, and is designed to support future capabilities via software upgrades.
The GLU 2100 is the latest generation of GPS positioning, utilizing SBAS (Satellite-based Augmentation System) for excellent accuracy and integrity. This means it meets most aerospace requirements worldwide, making international flight preparations easy and efficient.
Jet Aviation has competitively priced GLU-2100 units available now, for immediate installation and compliance.
