Jet Aviation Honored with 2023 Van Nuys Airport Friendly Flyer Award for Fifth Time

Since first being named a winner of the Friendly Flyer Award in 2017, JAFS has demonstrated consistent excellence in adhering to the rigorous noise abatement standards set forth by the Van Nuys Airport Fly Friendly Program. They had previously won the award in 2018, 2019, and 2021. This continued recognition underscores our dedication to minimizing the environmental impact of its aviation operations, particularly in relation to noise pollution.

The Van Nuys Airport Fly Friendly Program, established in 1994 as part of the VNY Part 150 Noise Compatibility Program, seeks to address community noise concerns by encouraging jet operators to adopt noise abatement procedures. The Friendly Flyer Award, introduced in 2012, is a testament to those operators who meet or exceed the highest standards of noise compliance, including the Quiet Departure Program and the Quieter Nights Program. To qualify, operators must maintain a 99% or greater compliance rate with these initiatives and avoid any violations of noise abatement and curfew regulations.
