Meet Noelie Stehle

Basel, Europe, I Am Jet

Meet Noélie Stehle, workshop Technician in completions, in Basel, here is to learn more about what she does and why she loves it.

Noelie, how long have you worked for Jet Aviation?

I joined Jet Aviation in December 2010 as a cabinet maker.

How did you come to Jet?

I studied as a carpenter in interior fittings. During a conversation with friends, I heard that Jet Aviation was looking for a carpenter. I was curious, and so I decided to apply. And here I am!

Can you briefly describe your job: Once a piece of furniture has been crafted in the Wood Shop, and before it is finished, it comes to me. It is my responsibility to disassemble the cabinet in its raw form, and then list and distribute the pieces to the finishing teams, such as painting, varnish, upholstery, electro, external treatments, etc. I am also involved in disassembling and reassembling cabinets from refurbishment projects.

“I disassemble, record and distribute furniture parts that require further processing. I need to be thorough and precise to ensure that the next team has the information they need to create stunning pieces that meet customer expectations”

What one word would describe how you approach your job?

Rigor / Perfectionism. I have to be very detail-oriented to ensure that everything is completed perfectly.

What is a typical day?

A typical day begins with a visual and functional check of the cabinet with the support of the previous step quality gate report, 3D model, and the approved design package. Then I start my disassembly. I identify each part, reference it and see the finishing requirements, and dispatch them to the appropriate services.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

Being the starting point of the finishing cycle, I like the efficiency and the rigor so that the furniture leaves my workstation with the necessary information so that my colleagues can apply their processes and reach the expected finishes. The goal is that the final piece meets customer expectation and Jet Quality standards.

And what do you enjoy about working for Jet Aviation?

Of course, it's a big company and a world leader. Moreover, the values of the company are also those that I apply in my daily life.

What are the main challenges you face in your role?

I am looking for a more efficient way to proceed (shorter time but no dip in quality!), to do my job, while offering my customers (internal or external) a quality service that meets their expectations.

If you could describe working at Jet in three words, what would they be?
